Our hearts are broken.

Dear Gwinnett Church family,

Our hearts are broken. Two of our staff members, Celeste and Ryan McCormick, were involved in a car accident Tuesday night in Alabama. It is with deep sorrow that I must let you know that Celeste died in the accident.  Ryan is currently recovering at a hospital in Montgomery and his prognosis is good.

Both Ryan and Celeste have done so much for Gwinnett Church. Ryan is on our Service Programming team and Celeste was a part of our UpStreet staff. We are heartbroken and we will miss her greatly. Please pray for Ryan, their parents, and our team.

We will keep you updated on Ryan’s progress and on the plans to honor Celeste.

I am in shock and sad beyond words. I first met Ryan just before he came on staff at Buckhead Church. I was working greenroom and his precious mom, Melanie, brought him back to meet me along with Celeste. They were an adorable couple and Celeste was so darling….She will be missed by so many. I pray for Ryan and his family and Celeste’s family. It is a very sad day for all. Jenny Papevies

please pray for our families! As Celeste cousin, we know without a shadow of a doubt she is rejoicing in heaven… but right now our human minds can not grasp the trauma of it all. I just ask that you put all of us in your prayers! Pray for peace and understanding in this time we all are facing!
    Thank you!!

So sad to read of this great loss. Trina and I are praying for the Peace of God to be on Ryan, the family and the entire church staff. We pray for Ryan’s healing and are so thankful to God for giving us Celeste to help establish Gwinnett Church. She is worshipping Jesus face to face now.

Gwinnett church family: I served on staff with Ryan at Dogwood Church and my wife and I enjoyed the privilege of doing their pre-marriage counseling. What an amazing love for Christ and thus each other and a testament to their great parents, pastors and disciplers in their lives.

Like you, our hearts are full of shock, sorrow and hope as we pray for Ryan, their families and your church family.

So devastated to hear this news. Celeste was always working hard behind the scenes, and always had a smile on her face. She will be greatly missed.

Thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

I’m so sorry to hear about this beautiful life loss to us but know she is rejoicing in heaven. Celeste – you will be missed. You were my son’s first group leader in Upstreet when we came to Gwinnett Church. He was always greeted with your beautiful contagious smile! We will miss you!
